The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....

I hated today!! The wind zapped everything out of us. It was an easy 20 mph wind and we had some uphill to climb. Then the fun part started-cold rain. It didn't let up for hours. We were soaked to the bone. I wanted to quit so many times today. Highlights of an otherwise miserable day. Don is our sag and he is like a big teddy bear.  He is kind, sings country, loves black licorice and takes care of us. Today he was concerned about the slick wet roads, the lack of shoulder, the lack of energy and just stayed right by us. Don had never even met us and he has given up a couple of weeks volunteering to follow two slow people around. He has been a big supporter and every time we pass by he gives us a fist pump or high five. Thanks Don for giving us your time! Your my teddy bear!
When we got to Garrison, we met up with a friend, Iohan. He is a cycling animal that we met through Warm Showers, a site where cyclists can find host families. He is biking the continental divide.
Today was so hard- as jimmy buffet says, "if a hurricane doesn't leave you dead, it will make you strong. Don't try to explain it, just nod your head . Breathe in, breathe out, move on."  So that is what we will do. Breathe in, breathe out and ride again tomorrow.
